I went to the Leon concert shows on 10/10, 10/11 , 10/12 , 10/13 , 10/14, and 10/15 . Here's the rundown for Leon's HK concert on the 6th night (last show).
* Leon shook hands w/ the audience. 10/15/05 - I was sitting in the Red section, Row 10.... in the HK$400 section...I'm guessing at least 20 rows plus 2 walkways away from the stage... I was in the HK$480 section for the other nights. I wasn't able to get a handshake from Leon this time...not in an ideal spot to get a handshake. The audience on this night went absolutely CRAZY!!!! They would scream VERY loudly (more loudly than the other nights) whenever Leon was facing their side or walking towards their area...they did this for every song. It seemed like a lot more people were standing up during this show compared to the other nights...or maybe it was the same on all the nights..I couldn't see if people were standing up behind me on the other nights. Right after Leon sang "Autumnal Dawn" and said that he was really happy tonight, the audience screamed for more than 30 seconds!... and were stomping their feet on the ground... I've never seen the audience react like this in the other Leon concerts I've been to. When Leon was singing "If I Can See You Again," during the first chorus part after he sang "wooi tau yeung moot yau nei.." you could hear him sing the words "ji sui"..like he was about to sing the 2nd part of the chorus, which isn't the right part, and I think he realized he was about to sing the wrong words, so he paused for a few seconds and didn't sing...and the fans screamed... then Leon sang "bat sui jin dau...pa ngok luet hei hau.." and continued with the song. But then he did the same thing that he did the previous night..he mumbled the words right before the chorus during the 2nd half of the song and then during the chorus for the 2nd half of the song, after he sang "wooi tau yeung moot yau nei.., " he paused for a few seconds again..forgot the words again...then he sang "bat sui jin dau...pa ngok luet hei hau.."... and finished the song. On this night, Janice M. Vidal (Wai Lan) sang two songs, "My Love, My Fate" and also "Big Brother." After singing "My Love, My Fate," she told the audience that she would be singing "Big Brother," and the audience cheered loudly, since most people were more familiar with the song "Big Brother" than the new song she sang during the concert. I still like the song "Big Brother" more than "My Love, My Fate." When Leon met up with Mark after singing "You Have My Word," Mark asked Leon why he was so touched when singing the song "If I Can See You Again" that he messed up on 2 nights in a row. Mark asked if it was because he had written the song with too much feeling or if it was because Leon saw how the fans were reacting at the concert. Leon said he didn't know why he messed up. Then Leon said something like, "well as long as you can get passed it, then it's ok." and Mark said, "but even if you don't sing the words, your fans would help you sing." and the audience screamed loudly. Then Mark said, "Tonight there's happiness and sadness...feeling happy cuz the audience is so loud"..and the audience screams... and Mark said, "and feeling sad cuz it's the last show....so is that why you felt so moved when you were singing 'If I Can See You Again?'..like when will we meet again?" and Leon said, "yes, I feel this way." Then Mark said, "I'm really sad cuz I don't know when will be the next time you will sing your old songs (cuz Leon doesn't like to sing his old songs). Your old songs really sound good." and Leon said, "yes, I know... we should continue to work hard..have old songs and new songs...just continue to work hard and share the songs with everyone." Then while Mark was trying to tune his guitar before playing the song "Last Love," Mark asked the audience if they thought Leon doesn't speak a lot during his concerts...and everyone screamed "Yes!" ..and Leon said it's because he didn't know what to talk about.. and Mark said, "so you (the fans) should give him some topics to talk about... ask some questions."...the audience was just screaming... so Leon just sang the next song "Last Love." When Leon and Mark met up with Chapman after singing "Give You a Piece of Snowflake," Chapman said to Leon, "It's the last show...so you should definitely dance"...and the audience screamed loudly....and Mark said, "I think so, too." and then Chapman asked the audience if they remembered how Leon danced to "My Dearest Love" (the 'sayonara oh' song)...and then Mark said, "How about if Leon shows everyone how the dance step to this song should really look like?" and the audience screamed...and Mark said, "I think you (Leon) would dance those steps much better than Chapman"..and Leon thought for a few seconds and then Chapman said, "ok, nevermind..if he's thinking for more than 5 seconds, then it's a 'no'.." ... and then Chapman did his imitation of Leon dancing "Happy 2000"....sooo funny!...then Leon said "I really don't think I should dance... cuz I would definitely regret it if I did..because that's not me....if I could dance, I would have danced since the first show." Then Leon told Chapman to dance and make a few changes to his dance steps cuz it's the same moves every night..and Chapman (sort of making fun of Leon) said, "no I won't make changes cuz I am who I am..hahaha."..and the audience laughed. After Leon sang "Nameless Song, Anonymous You,"
Charles Ying Cheung Yau came out and sang one song while Leon went offstage.
Charles was a guest only for the last night. After Michael Kwong Leung sang "Fairy Tale," Michael sang another song while Leon went offstage. Although fans were screaming at the top of their lungs after Leon's last song "Love Words Not Yet Spoken," hoping that he would actually sing another song, he still didn't do it...which was VERY disappointing!! You'd think that the final concert lasts longer than the other shows because the main singer decides to sing a couple more songs, but NOOO... Leon decides to give this time to the other singers in his record company. But it wasn't even 11:30PM yet!..there was still enough time for Leon to sing a couple more songs if he really wanted to. Anyway, when Chapman was making the closing speech, Chapman said, "After doing all these shows, I now know that you don't have to explain why you love someone... when HK has less and less stars nowadays, there's still one true star..Leon" and the fans screamed loudly. After Leon finished saying his thank-you's, the fans still continued to scream 'encore'...Leon stayed on stage for a few more seconds to wave good-bye...and then went offstage... the show ended at 11:05PM. When I left HK a few days later, I wasn't expecting to see anyone from the HK entertainment circle on the airplane, especially when I'm sitting in economy... anyway, I was taking Japan Airline back home (had a connecting flight in Japan), and when I sat down in my seat and looked to the side, I noticed a gal with bright red hair sitting in the row behind and to the right section of me. At first I thought, "woh...such bright red hair!"..and then a few seconds later I thought that she kinda looked like the CR903 DJ Mini ... I turned back a couple more times to take a look again, and I'm almost positive it was her... I assume the guy sitting next to her is her new husband and that they were going on their honeymoon trip (heard from other CR DJs on their radio programs that Leon appeared at Mini's wedding a few days before). I've been listening to Mini's radio program for almost a year and I've seen her pix a few times, otherwise I wouldn't have recognized her. Anyway, that's the end of my report... hope this wasn't too boring to read. |
